Back in May, we launched a Facebook competition where schools and nurseries could WIN £2,000 to spend on anything and everything with us. All they needed to do is tell us why their establishment deserved to win the cash.

We had over a 100 entries, and as you can imagine, it was extremely hard for us to pick just one winner. However, there was one comment that stood out to us the most.

The competition post on Facebook

At the start of September, we broke some fantastic news to Blythe Bridge High School & Sixth Form that one of their year 8 students, Branden, had entered our competition and won £2,000 for their school!

Branden saw the competition online and independently made an entry telling us how great his teachers are and how much he loves attending school.

Natasha Sewley-Miles (one of our lovely account manager’s at Consortium) attended the school recently to present them with their £2,000. The presentation was also attended by the head teacher Rachael Johnson, the head of year 8, Jack Biggs, and Branden’s very proud mum.

Mrs Johnson said: “We are absolutely thrilled and it was a lovely surprise to return to after the summer break. Branden has spent time discussing with his peers and meeting with senior leaders in school in order to make suggestions of what the school should spend the winnings on. £2,000 is such a significant amount and Branden has made some really good suggestions to ensure that the teaching and learning resources we purchase impact positively on all students.”

It’s clear that Branden is a true credit to the school and a well-deserved winner of our competition. It brings us so much joy knowing that we can give back to schools and support them and their students. After all, we are the education supply people who are dedicated to providing excellence in education!
