Chinese New Year celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. A big part of the celebration is the Chinese Dragon which is a symbol of China, and is an important part of Chinese culture. The Chinese dragons symbolise wisdom, power and wealth, and they are believed to bring good luck to people too.

So why not create your very own in the classroom!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Step 1. Colour in your pre-printed Concertina Dragons from the kit.

Step 2. Fold the coloured body strip (paper) in half and repeat 3 more times.

Step 3. Stick down the craft sticks with PVA, one each side of the paper.

Step 4. On the opposite side to the craft sticks, stick down the pre-printed Concertina Dragons. The head on one side and the tail on the other.

Step 5. Leave to dry.
