The large set of 68 pieces includes the following resources and a pack of 5 large drawstring bags to hold the components when not in use.
• 10 x beech rings (70mm), 10 x beech rings (48mm), 6 x 40mm cubes, 10 egg cups (63mm), 10 x wooden spools, 10 x wooden balls (50mm), 3 x bowls (70mm), 3 x bowls (92mm), 1 x ring holder, 5 x drawstring bag (380 x 420mm) and Heuristic play guidance notes
When using these items the possibilities are completely open ended and therefore endless! Mathematical language of big and small featured through building towers with the cubes, spools and egg cups. Great fun was had when the towers crashed to the ground! We also used planks and guttering to experiment and find out which of the objects could roll, which developed into competitive races. Using a piece of fabric to hide a set of one of each item we played a guessing game which object is missing, to extend vocabulary, attention and listening and turn taking.
